Got my 80 Series tuned and serviced by Elite Tune and honestly couldn’t be happier. The difference is night and day. throttle response is way sharper, pulls harder through the rev range, and just feels way more alive to drive. It used to feel a bit sluggish, especially towing or going up hills, but now it handles it effortlessly.They really know their stuff too. Rickey was so polite and was to understand as he took the time to explain everything properly and made sure the tune suited how I actually use the car not just some generic setup which other shops do. The 4JJ3-TCX is fitted to:

All third-generation D-MAX 3.0L models use the 4JJ3 platform.

Isuzu MU-X (2021 Onwards)

The current-generation MU-X 3.0L runs the 4JJ3-TCX.

Mazda BT-50 (2020+ Third Generation TF)

The 2020+ Mazda BT-50 3.0L uses Isuzu’s 4JJ3-TCX engine.

Many owners don’t realise this platform is Isuzu-based.

From a tuning perspective, the BT-50 3.0 follows the same calibration principles as the current D-MAX.

Software revisions may differ slightly, which is why we confirm ECU version before tuning.

Selected Isuzu N-Series Variants

Some light truck applications use updated 3.0L 4JJ architecture depending on emissions specification and model code.

Recent Work

Nick, an Isuzu D-Max 4JJ3 owner, was looking to improve the low-end torque of his vehicle, especially for towing and beach driving. He opted for an ECU remap to achieve this.

This remap delivered an impressive extra 120 Nm of torque, and crucially, this peak torque was achieved 260 rpm earlier (at 1600 rpm compared to 1860 rpm before). This considerable increase in low-end torque at a lower RPM makes a substantial difference, particularly for applications like towing and navigating challenging terrains such as beach driving, where immediate and robust power delivery is essential.

A 4JJ3 engine tune is the recalibration of the factory ECU in the Isuzu 4JJ3-TCX 3.0-litre turbo diesel engine, used in the current D-MAX, MU-X and 2020+ Mazda BT-50.
